About the role
Join our IT apprenticeship programme to gain practical experience while working towards a recognised qualification and earning a wage. This role is designed for someone curious about technology who wants broad exposure to IT support, cloud basics and software. You will learn on the job alongside experienced colleagues and contribute to real projects and daily support tasks.
What you’ll learn

Fundamentals of computer hardware, operating systems and device troubleshooting

Networking basics including topology, routing, switching and common protocols

Introduction to cloud services, virtualisation and major cloud platforms

Core security principles, identity and access management and safe working practices

Helpdesk and support workflows, ticketing systems, customer service and incident management

Introductory scripting and automation to streamline routine tasks
Key responsibilities

Provide first‑line technical support to colleagues and customers via phone, chat and email

Diagnose and resolve common hardware, software and connectivity issues

Escalate more complex incidents to senior teams and assist with follow‑up actions

Maintain accurate records in the ticketing system and contribute to knowledge articles

Support device rollouts, routine maintenance and upgrade activities

Take part in small projects to improve service and automation

Progression to roles such as first or second‑line support, technical support analyst, network technician or systems engineer

Location and eligibility

Apprenticeship available in England and Scotland; specific location depends on employer vacancy
